The Homestead and Farm Medicine course 2024 - Labor Day Weekend 2024 - August 31st, September 1st and 2nd.

The Homestead and Farm Medicine course is designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to be your own first responder while living your best back to the land life.  

Providing first aid assistance to yourself or a member of your family or community in a farming or rural environment can be a scary and overwhelming thought for even the most seasoned rural folks.  With response times for emergency services growing by the day, caring for the sick or injured can be a prolonged adventure. We don't think that these problems and potential life threatening situations should be a limiting factor to your dreams of forging a life on your own terms.  

This course is adapted from and built of the proven tenets of austere, combat, and prolonged field care medicine.  These concepts and skills are taught by seasoned paramedics and emergency medical physicians who understand the challenges of delivering quality medical care in an austere environment.  

This course will be held over a three day period at beautiful Watauga Flats Farm.  Classes will run for approximately 8-hours per day.  Some parts of the course will be physically strenuous and mentally challenging.  Group discussion and decision making will be encouraged and necessary for the greatest return on your investment. 

Prepare to have some laughs and face some tough decisions all while being challenged and accumulating life saving skills to implement at your home, farm or where ever you choose to hang your hat.  

Lunch will be provide each day.  Camping will be available on-site.  Certifications will be awarded for CPR and Stop The Bleed training at the completion of the course as well as an overall course completion certificate.
